3b 1979 Crank Rebuild Engine Numbers.
The crankshaft bearings issue caused a lot of grief for Laverda and their dealer network, let alone for the reputation for reliability. Hundreds of machines had to be recalled in order to have the crankshaft bearing replaced as it could last only a few thousand miles. This document is a partial record of engine numbers compiled at the time by Slaters, detailing where individual machines went and whether contact had been established with the dealer. Roger Winterburn was working for Slaters at the time and was charged with coordinating the recalls and this document forms part of his ILOC archive. The records confirming whether the work was carried out are not complete. This list details 1000cc triples, the vast majority of which were Jotas.
Engine numbers that required replacement of the inner ball bearings;
1200 1519 to 1566, 1833 to 2533
1000 6204 to 6594, 6598 to 6603
